Leela will report back from the National Branch Council conference call where Branch Organizers from ISO branches across the country discussed the election results and post-election perspectives for organizing.
2. Building on Campus & in the Community for for upcoming meetings and Teach-In on the Case for Socialist Revolution
Our next few meetings take up the urgent question of how we can begin to lay the groundwork for a revolutionary transformation of this society.
11/17 Reform or Revolution: Can Capitalism be Fixed? and 11/20 Teach-In: The Case for Socialist Revolution. Revolution isn't going to happen overnight, but it can happen--with a longer-term perspective and an understanding of the revolutionary process. Given the ongoing economic crisis, It's vital that we discuss these ideas and learn from the history of previous revolutions.
So we want to publicize these next meetings as broadly as possible, reaching out to allies and publicizing to attract new people who are radicalizing on campus and in the broader city of Seattle.
We'll give an overview of the upcoming events and what we hope to get out of them, then for the remainder of the meeting we'll break into smaller groups of students building on campus, and folks building in the Seattle community. We'll brainstorm how to best get out the word about these events, what allies to talk to, what publicity we want to do etc... So come bring your ideas, help us make a plan of action and carry it out!
