Throughout his election campaign, Obama promised to refocus U.S. military efforts on the "Good War" in Afghanistan. Obama is sticking to his word, announcing last week that 17,000 new troops will be deployed in Afghanistan by this summer. But will this surge actually improve the conditions of Afghans? Join the ISO for a discussion this Wednesday about what's next for Obama, the war on terror, and how the grassroots antiwar movement can organize in the new political period to bring an end to this imperialist venture.
Below is a list of recommended readings for Wednesday's talk on Afghanistan.
